Advertisments on Spring Break

The whole week I was in Florida I saw advertisements on pretty much everything. When ever we were sitting on the beach a plane would fly by every few minutes with advertisements for companies and what the specials were at the bars that night. People were always walking around handing out Vitamin Waters and other free things like Vitamin Waters that they wanted you to try. When ever we went into the liquor store they were always offering free samples of different alcohol that they wanted you to try. Even after having the sample they would give us free sunglasses and shot glasses that had the name of the alcohol on it. They are offering free samples because they hope that we will like it and then decide to buy some, which was a good idea.

Advertisments when driving

When driving around a majority of restaurants and stores have advertisements right outside them.  Whether they are advertising a new beer or a new entree they have to offer, restaurants are always trying to do what ever they can to make you pull over and go eat there. They try to appeal to everyone driving by hoping to get more customers. Even if you don't pull over right that second to go eat next time you want to go out you might remember the deal they were advertising and choose to go there. Even when driving on the highway there are exit signs that advertise what food places, gas stations, or hotels are off that exit. People that are driving on the highway that are hungry might make an impulsive decision and get off the exit to go eat at that food place. Advertisements that are visible by driving by them have to be short and to the point since you only see them for a few seconds. They have to be able to attract the drivers attention within the few seconds they drive by.  

Superbowl Commercials

Personally this year I didn't think the Superbowl commericals lived up to their reputation. I couldn't even remember a majority of the commercials when discussing them in class the next day. When watching the commercials it was sometimes hard to tell what they were even trying to advertise until the very end when they told you. One commercial that I do remember is the M&M commercial advertising the new brown M&M's. This commercial was funny and caught my attention. It was also clear what this commerical was trying to advertise since they had the M&M speaking.
